AASB roundtables on Primary Financial Statements

The AASB will be hosting two roundtable sessions in Sydney and Melbourne with regards to the IASB’s Primary Financial Statements project. The first roundtable will be held in Sydney, on Monday, 30 March, and it will be hosted by CA ANZ at their offices, at 33 Erskine Street. The second event will take place in Melbourne, on Tuesday 31 March, at the Productivity Commission office, Tower Level 12, 530 Collins Street. Both roundtables are scheduled to start at 9:00am and finish at 12:00pm AEDT.

This is a great opportunity to provide feedback from an Australian accounting perspective, and help influence the final standard.

The aim of the roundtables is to collect stakeholder feedback for the General Presentation and Disclosures Exposure Draft, and IASB Board member, Ann Tarca, will present to the audience and answer their questions.

As part of its Primary Financial Statements project, IASB has proposed improvements to the way information is communicated in financial statements, with a particular focus on an entity’s financial performance. Responding to investor demand, the proposals would require more comparable information in the statement of profit or loss and a more disciplined and transparent approach to the reporting of management-defined performance measures (‘non-GAAP’).
