As you will remember, the Group of 100 (G100), in partnership with Sundaram Business Services and Civic Financial Communications, launched a series of business networking and information events, earlier this year. The latest lunch was held in Melbourne in the Lady Nelson Room at Vue de Monde Restaurant and was well attended.
Our guest speaker at the luncheon was Paul Docherty, a Melbourne-based entrepreneur and the founder of utility connection business Direct Connect. Paul eventually sold Direct Connect, along with Lumo Energy, to Snowy Hydro for $605m in 2014. Since then Paul has founded the dental prosthetics firm SmileStyler, valued at $46 million, along with technology companies 3D MediTech, Serkel, Hummingbird, HOOD and BRC Capital. Paul has been Chair of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO) Melbourne Yarra Chapter and is the incoming 2019-2020 YPO Regional Chair.
Paul spoke about his experiences as a serial entrepreneur, starting and then selling significant businesses, and provided insights into the digital and data world that will impact all corporations.
The next scheduled event will take place in Melbourne, on 9 October 2019 followed closely by one in Sydney, on 15 October 2019. Invitations and further details will be sent via email, in the following days.
