G100 members join ASIC and KPMG to discuss reporting in a COVID-19 world

With the pandemic’s negative impact on business and the broader community, the G100 and KPMG are holding an important webcast on the challenging reporting issues members face this year. 

Organisations of all shapes and sizes have been impacted by COVID-19 and cannot operate as they would normally. Many people are working from home; some have key staff on extended leave, essential meetings are being held online. The economic slowdown, coupled with these problematic working conditions, means that financial reporting is a key focus for all businesses this June.

While the Group of 100 (G100) can’t hold regular member networking events, dinners and information sessions, it has set up a series of essential webcasts for members and their teams to assist them in working through these difficult times. Each webcast deals with critical issues impacting member companies. Experts from major organisations, government and regulators will address concerns to assist members.

The second event in the series,” Financial Reporting Impacts of COVID-19″ is scheduled for Friday, 19 June 2020 at 12:30 PM (AEST) and is being put on in partnership with KPMG.

An expert panel will discuss and debate the critical reporting issues as well as taking questions from G100 members and their finance teams. The panel includes:

  • Doug Niven, ASIC’s Senior Executive Leader Financial Reporting and Audit;
  • Kim Heng, KPMG’s Head of Financial Reporting; and
  • Martyn Roberts, G100 Deputy Chair and experienced CFO.

This webcast will cover a range of topics including impairment, reporting, leases and ongoing concerns, and it is open to all G100 CFOs and the key members of their finance teams.
