G100 Webinar series debuted on 01 May, 2020
The Group of 100 (G100) continues to engage with members during these unprecedented times. While we cannot formally hold our regular member dinners, we have launched a series of webinars in which we will bring you the latest views and opinions from leading organisations, government and regulators.
The first in the new series of member webinars was titled “Cyber Risk and Regulatory Issues in a COVID-19 environment” and took place Friday, 1 May 2020. For the first webinar, we have teamed up with EY, who is also committed to highlighting topics that are highly relevant to members, as we navigate this challenging period.
The webcast was hosted by Janelle Hopkins, Chair of the G100 and CFO of REA Group. John Price, ASIC Commissioner, Richard Watson, EY’s Asia-Pacific Cybersecurity Leader, and Georgina Crundell, EY Cybersecurity Partner, presented.
In a recent article on working in a COVID-19 world, John said: “In a short space of time, companies will be required to focus on and, most likely, recalibrate aspects of their corporate strategy, risk-management framework, and funding and capital management strategy – among other things”. During the webinar, John covered essential aspects of audit and reporting in the coronavirus crisis environment as well as what is expected from AGMs this year.
The webcast participants were also briefed on the latest developments in cybersecurity, as they pertain to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how to address the continually changing cyber risks to businesses. During the webcast Richard and Georgina shared perspectives on:
- What are the latest emerging cyber threats arising from the COVID-19 crisis,
- What are the practical things organisations can do as protection from cyber attacks in the short term, and
- What role can executive leaders play to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of their organisation

The next scheduled webinar will take place in June. Further details will be sent to the G100 members via email, in the coming weeks.
