The G100 has partnered with PwC to deliver the ‘Future of the Profession’ webcast series which is proving very popular with our membership. As an extension of that, Sam Lobley and the PwC team would like to extend an invitation to their inaugural national school holiday technology workshop. PwC is delighted to be working with Grok Academy to support each child on their development journey to become confident, independent programmers and problem solvers.
Upskilling for our digital world has become a priority for governments and societies, as well as organisations such as PwC, as we adjust to new working environments and our digitally driven economy. This project aligns with PwC’s ambitions to build essential digital skills for the future workforce at a grassroots level. The intention is for this workshop to be the first of many, as we work towards making these important skills accessible to all.
The workshop was scheduled for 9 July but had to be postponed due to lockdowns in various locations. The event has been rescheduled to 28 September.
The workshop will be held simultaneously in PwC’s Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Canberra, and Adelaide offices. The session will run from 9am-3pm with extra activities to occupy children until 5pm for those who need additional care. In the spirit of inclusivity the definition of ‘your children’; is wide – it includes nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren etc. The program is aimed at children between 8‑14 years of age.
Capacity for the day is limited in each location. PwC have reserved 8 places in Sydney and Melbourne for G100 members. Based on the feedback of members, consideration will be given to running the same session later in the year exclusively for G100 members.
All parents and carers are invited to join from 2pm-3pm to hear more about what has been covered and the next steps.
As well, a complementary 12-month membership to the Grok Academy learning platform will be provided for each child attending (as well as a goodie bag containing items including a micro:bit to extend workshop learnings). The workshop is free of charge.
If you’d like to register your child, please contact G100 Secretariat for more information firstname.lastname@example.org or +61 413 318 455.
