Legislation has recently passed that would require large and heavy emitting organisations to report on their climate-related risks and opportunities. The subsequent standards issued by the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) sets out the framework for the legislative requirements.
With the phased roll-out approach being envisaged over the next several years, now is the time for CFOs to fully harness to capacity of their respective teams to comply with the requirements, but also to build future resilience for broader sustainability considerations.
