ASIC will hold its 25th Annual Forum at the Hilton Sydney from 25 to 26 March 2020.
This year, the ASIC Annual Forum will bring together global industry experts and thought leaders to explore the characteristics of a good financial services industry and how all can work together to build a system that is efficient, honest and fair.
Professor Professor Sunita Sah, MD, PhD MB of Cornell University, USA, and visiting Scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation in New York, will examine how consumer outcomes and firm behaviour are influenced by a range of factors, including context, incentives and human responses to social relationships. It’s in the interest of firms and consumers alike to share responsibility for delivering good consumer outcomes.
Disclosure is necessary, but not sufficient, to generate good consumer outcomes. A recent ASIC–AFM report about the limits of disclosure show that it is time to update the policy architecture and shift the responsibility away from the ‘informed consumer’.
The ASIC Annual Dinner will be held at the Hilton Sydney on 25 March 2020.
